2010 Camaro SS 1400HP Level 5 Rear axles RA5410X5 / RA5411X5
Description:The Level 5 axles for the new Camaro SS are designed to handle up to 1400HP. Using our chromoly center bars, 108mm Porsche-style CV's and bolt-on chromoly inner and outer stubs, these are a direct bolt-on that fit the stock hubs and come complete with all the necessary hardware. Not only will these axles handle the horsepower, we have used different diameter chromoly axle bars on each side which will eliminate wheelhop. Wheelhop at launch which can be extremely damaging to the drivetrain and makes getting traction very difficult. The factory Camaro axles are made with different diameter axle bars, but the spline diameter is the same on both sides. We have seen this before on stock axles such as those found in the Mustang Cobra, where the large diameter axle bar will taper down to a spline that is half the diameter. This transition creates a weak point on the axle bar that cannot withstand increased horsepower. Our axles are made with 1-1/8” & 1-3/8” diameter bars that are splined on the full diameter of the bar, without being tapered down so drastically and creating a weak point. Pricing is on an exchange basis. We build and ship you a transmission, you install it, then ship us the core back. If we do not receive a rebuildable core within 30 days, we will charge you a minimum of $750 for the transmission core. Contact us if you do not have a core transmission. Prices subject to change.

The Drive Shaft shop is proud to announce the release of the new 2010 Camaro-Ford 9" Rear Conversion Kit. This system has been designed and built specifically for the new Camaro platform. Using a steel case with rear mounts tig welded on and a front mount that connects to the original 5 pinion bolts on the 9” center section. Due to the variety of differentials and spools available, we have decided to supply the 9” case only, allowing you to decide what center section would be best for your needs. This kit utilizes all 3 original mounting points for the factory differential, using the factory hardware to hold it in place. Included are custom polyurethane mounts used to support the case, along with all other hardware needed for the installation. We have supplied our special 31 spline diff stubs rated to 1400HP (we considered using a larger spline, but anything larger than the axle center bar would be a waste of material and add unnecessary weight).

We here are The Driveshaft Shop have decided to move away from telling everyone what materials we are making these parts from. Why, you ask? Well it seems that we have been having trouble with monkey see, monkey do in the drivetrain market. What we will say is that over the last few months DSS has aligned itself with a mill in Sweden providing Aerospace grade material to us direct, that when heat treated to our specifications will far exceed any "trendy" materials that you may have heard of lately. All we want you to know is that it comes from us here at DSS and being that we have been around for more than 35 years, it should be clear that we are not some hobbyists making parts in our spare time. You can count on us to not only come out with the highest quality drivetrain parts, but also to have the capability to bring them to you at a better price with service that is second to none.

The system will come with our Pro-Series 1400HP axles designed for the 9" conversion(sorry the standard Camaro axles will not fit).

We have also spent considerable time and effort to supply the kit with a proven 3.5" 6061-T6 aluminum 2-piece driveshaft with full 1350 u-joints and an amazing 1-1/2” diameter spline at the hanger bearing. (custom shafts can be supplied at customers request)

The kit will include:
  1. Powder coated Differential housing (bare housing) with rear bracket and poly bushing
  2. Powder coated front mount with poly bushings
  3. (2) 31 spline diff stubs with o-ring bushings rated and guaranteed for 1400HP
  4. (2) DSS 1400HP "fatty" axles with 30 spline center shafts and REM polished CV internals
5. (1) Complete 2-piece 3.5” aluminum 6061-T6 driveshaft with 1350 u-joints and 1-1/2” diameter center spline and hanger with solid mount (pinion yoke that you are using on your differential must be in 4-1/16” in length, or we will supply a Strange billet yoke)
  1. All necessary hardware needed to complete the installation
  2. 1-year warranty.
